Types of fixings for hollow materials
If you have decided to fix an element on a hollow material, it is important that you take into account a series of questions in order to achieve firm and resistant anchorages.
Something fundamental to take into account is the base material on which you are going to place your fixing, in this case a hollow material such as hollow concrete, hollow brick or plasterboard plates, also called laminated plaster plates. Each material will require one type of anchoring or another.

Types of fixings according to the load they can support
The next factor to take into account when choosing the anchor or plug that best suits your needs is the weight of the element to be fixed. This comes down to whether it is a light, medium or heavy load. There are anchors for hollow materials that can support heavy loads and others designed to hang light elements such as pictures or lamps.

  • Heavy and medium loads: With proper fastening, all types of medium and heavy loads can be installed in hollow surfaces. Chemical anchors are a great option for securing heavy elements in materials such as hollow brick: our MO-P+ chemical anchors, for example, allow elements weighing up to 115 kg to be fixed. Certain plastic anchors can also be used, such as the high-performance T-NUX nylon anchors, suitable for installing structures such as air conditioning units.
  • Low loads: There is a wide range of solutions available for hanging light loads in hollow materials. Our Indemoll metal anchors, for example, are the ideal choice for items up to 20 kg, such as fire extinguishers or light furniture. For loads of up to 6 kg, you can use self-drilling Zamak anchors such as TAPLA ME and TAPLA ZK. And for secure anchoring of items up to 3 kg, such as luminaires, blackboards and recessed panels, you can use our ANCLA nylon anchor.
  • Ceilings. For installation in false ceilings, it is best to use gravity toggles, such as the BA-ES or BA-GA models.
At INDEX you will find a wide selection of fixings for hollow materials.
